WWI nurses were present at every front. Voluntary, often unpaid, frequently irreplaceable. They were celebrated during the war. Then they disappeared from the historical record almost entirely.
We built the campaign’s visual logic around the work itself. Each poster uses bandages and thread, the actual techniques of WWI wound care, to literally restore the historical image: 600 metres of thread, 250 metres of bandage, 376 hours of hand labour. Even the QR codes, linking to audio and video stories of individual nurses, were stitched by hand.
